Abbeydale Deception

Abbeydale Deception
Price: £2.85
Description
THE BEER

A pale beer, made with fabulous Nelson Sauvin hops. Aromas of elderflower and grapes. Strong citrus flavours, especially grapefruit. Long lasting bitter finish. Very refreshing and packed full of flavour.

Due to the success of Deception back in 2008 and 2009 as a seasonal special, Abbeydale Brewery decided to bring the beer on as a regular in replace of Matins 3.6%.  Bringing on new regular beer in itself comes with other obstacles, such as ensuring the constant supply of good quality hops. The brewers of Britain have all been trying to get their hands on these New Zealand Nelson Sauvin hops causing a national shortage. However, Abbeydale Brewery were fortunate enough to get in there first. The sales of Deception have continued to increase so much so that have even had to ration some of the beer – I think that speaks for itself!

This is consistently one of Abbeydale Brewery's biggest selling beers.

This beer pairs well with eastern, mediteranean or indian cuisine. It also pairs well with sharp cheeses and seafood.

THE BREWERY

Since Abbeydale Brewery was founded in 1996 by Patrick Morton and his father Hugh, the business has grown steadily. The vision was and is to produce high quality beers by sourcing the best ingredients, and paying close attention to the brewing process. Principally pale malts are used in Abbeydale recipes with hops from the UK, and also from as far afield as Peru, the Western coast of America and New Zealand.  Abbeydale Brewery now produces upwards of 70 barrels a week, and the gradual expansion programme is set to continue.  The regular range is also complemented by ever changing seasonal ales.
