Lively, almost violently effervescent Belgian Speciality beer, 7.5%abv.

This beer was created by De Dolle Brouwers, known as the mad brewers. These two professionals an architect and a doctor bought the brewery near Ostend to create weekend beers as a hobby that developed into commercial success.

De Dolle Brouwers is a highly regarded Belgian brewery, based in Esen in the province of West Flanders. The name means, literally, "the mad brewers" and this attitude is reflected in their whimsical graphics and adventurous brewing style.


The building housing the brewery is believed to date from 1835 and has a long brewing history since its inception by local doctor Louis Nevejan, having become the Costenoble brewery in approximately 1882 and remaining in that family for three generations. It was defunct when purchased by De Dolle and restored to function as a brewery in 1980.

Ara bier is the summer brew, a lemon coloured zesty bottle conditioned ale with a large portion of Kent Goldings hops in the mash. Close to a tripel style this beer is hoppy with a vanilla coriander palate, so lively we serve it in a huge glass!
