Brooklyn Lager

Brooklyn Lager
Price: £3.40
Description
In 1987, former AP middle east correspondent Steve Hindy and banker Tom Potter quit their jobs and started the Brooklyn Brewery. With a team of stalwart salesman, they began peddling Brooklyn Lager on the streets of New York. The Brooklyn Brewery is among the top breweries in America and Brooklyn Lager is one of the best draft beers in New York city.

This is classed as an amber lager - it is an all-malt lager brewed to a pre-prohibition recipe. The aroma consists of rich roast malt and caramel, with a little hop content. In the mouth it is lively and there is a very faint citrus tang, but it is chiefly characterised by caramel and heavy malt. The flavour of the bittering hops (Hallertau and Cascade) also makes itself felt. The aftertaste is quite hoppy, but also has a fair degree of acidity, counteracting the malty bitterness. 5.1% ABV

Brooklyn Lager pairs well with beef and poultry dishes, and works well with food that has a slight spicyness to it.
