Budweiser Budvar

Budweiser Budvar
Price: £3.20
Description
Budvar is now a famous crisp lager at 5%. Brewed from nothing but local natural materials in a 100 days brewing cycle ( 90 spent fermenting ) it is universally regarded as one of the world's great lager conditioned beers.

Budweiser is a style of beer from Budweis in Bohemia, the Czech Republic. Sweeter and more delicate than a hoppy pilsner this beer is very drinkable. So much so, thought Adolphus Busch in the nineteenth century he exported the name and style to the U.S.A. Years of decline have reduced the taste of the popular American super brand and it bows before the mighty Budvar a superior beer.

Pours clear and bright yellow with a thin white head. The aroma has hints of malts with some light sulpher notes, and floral hops.  The flavour is dominated by the refined floral european hops. Some hints of spice and earthy notes in the flavour.  The mouthfeel is well balanced, with a dry and crisp finish. This should be the benchmark for all czech pils!

This beer pairs well with indian, chinese and japanese cuisine and sharper cheeses.
