Description
The strongest of the Chimay beers.
9%
33cl
Chimay blue, or Grande Reserve as it is know in larger bottles, is a beer of massive character. The colour is dark and inviting, the aroma spicy and sweet and the flavour exceptional. A rich and lively sweetness gives way to a drier finish. A peppery spiciness with thyme, hints of cedar and a touch of nutmeg are balenced by the characteristic yeastiness.
Similar to a good port, Chimay Blue is well suited to strong cheese and is especially good after a meal.
Magnums of Chimay Grande Reserve are also available (150cl; 9%; £21:50)
