Description
Award winning Freedom Brewery is the home of hand-crafted English lagers. Using a sustainable source of natural brewing water, Freedom is proud to offer a range of premium lagers.

COMPANY BACKGROUND

Freedom Lager was originally founded in 1995 at Fulham, London. In 1997 and 1999 it opened two pub breweries one in Earlham Street near Covent Garden and another in Ganton Street near Carnaby Street. In 2004, Freedom Brewery moved to its current home in the heart of rural Staffordshire, near the world famous brewing town of Burton-on-Trent. The Ganton Street brewery’s 10hl maturation tanks were reassembled in Staffordshire and additional brewing equipment was brought in from the United States to cope with demand.

Staffordshire based Freedom Brewery lies in an idyllic country setting, benefiting from its own source of sustainable, pure limestone Spring water. This water, filtered over millions of years through layers of natural alabaster, is the water that has attracted brewers to the Burton area for over three hundred years. Burton water is rightly acknowledged to be among the best brewing water in the world, on a par with the famous waters of Pilsen itself. Prior to brewing, this water requires no chemical treatment or additives, as it already has the necessary ‘hard’ qualities.

A combination of the finest quality ingredients and optimum maturation period (four to six weeks) ensures Freedom Lagers are satisfyingly full of flavour.

Freedom Lagers are certified by the Vegan Society as suitable for vegetarians and vegans. Freedom Brewery do not use Isinglass (a substance obtained from the swim bladders of fish) in their clarification process.

FREEDOM PILSNER

‘Freedom is a rare hand-crafted British lager that shows its big and bland rivals where they should be heading. With both style and substance, Freedom strikes a lip-smaking balance of grassy, flowery hops and sweet yet burly barley undertones to wondrous effect. Crisp, refreshing and with a lavish aftertaste, Freedom is arguably the most thirst-slaking liquid to leave the environs of Burton for quite some time’
Ben McFarland,
Britain’s Beer Writer of the Year 2004 & 2006.
5% abv continental pilsner. Freedom Pilsner is made with a blend of liberty and spicy Saaz hops and soft sweet malts, which produced a full bodied bitterness with a citrus hop aroma and lavishly satisfying aftertaste.
