La Trappe Quadrupel

La Trappe Quadrupel
Price: £4.20
Description
You had the dark creamy Dubbel, then the strong light yeasty Tripel, can you manage the daddy, the super strong Quadrupel.

This Ale is very strong, the taster feels a torrent of warm alcoholic liquid spread inside his guts. A copper red barley wine, with a sweet finish, reminds one of a brandy at Christmas definitely bed time juice.

Aroma is sweet, malty, bready, yeasty. Did I mention spicy? This is what I love about true Belgian beers is that they have such great complexity and this one does not disappoint so far. On to the first taste...

Flavour is similarly complicated with lots of dark ripe pit fruits, warm winter spices, and funky Belgian yeast. Tons of great flavour and all in good balance. Sweet cherries, cinnamon-raisin bread, and chocolate dipped bananas.

33cl bottle.
