Description
Britain's most famous bottle conditioned beer brewed in Burton at the Bass Brewing Museum, 5.6%abv.
Brewed since the nineteenth century this beer is a great survivor. It has been swapped about by brewers and companies for many years but in a new style bottle seems comfortably at home in Burton. It has even been brewed in Sheffield.
This beer represents a great tradition of British bottle conditioned ales, now few and far between and the Devonshire Cat is proud to sell ever increasing amounts of the stuff.
The most important thing about WWS is that, despite varied reviews emphasising the deterioration since the 1970s and unpredictability, our bottles contain fine beer.
WWS is a classic India Pale Ale it is hoppy, and orange with a moisture sucking dryness that comes with Belgians' such as Chimay Red, a strong yeasty ale drinkers ale with an obvious haze, take some home and cellar it, tastes fantastic at room temperature after about five years.
